The First Citizens Bank Contribution Maximizer Tool (the "Modeler") is intended to help you decide how much to contribute to your First Citizens Bank 401(k) plan.
The information and resources provided throughout the Modeler, including text, graphics, images, and other materials, are provided as general information, may be based on various assumptions relating to your age, eligibility, elections, or compensation, and neither represent nor are intended to be specific advice to you or anyone else on any particular matter, including, but not limited to, tax, legal, retirement planning, insurance, financial, investment, or similar advice.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of any data you enter into the Modeler, and calculations are based on the information you provide. The Modeler should not be used or relied upon by you as a substitute for your independent research or for professional advice regarding your own specific situation. Your actual experience may vary from the estimates modeled by the Modeler.
The Modeler is intended only for your personal non-commercial use, and you may not modify, copy, display, distribute, reverse engineer, or otherwise extract any source code, algorithms, methods, or techniques embodied in the Modeler.

First Citizens Bank reserves the right to amend or discontinue the plans and/or programs described in the Modeler, in whole or in part, at any time for any reason without prior notice to, or consent by, employees.
Although the Modeler contains high-level information about benefits available under the Plan, it is not intended to provide every detail. More detailed information can be found in the Summary Plan Description. In the event of a discrepancy or inconsistency between the content described in the Modeler, including any estimated calculations or provisions of the Plan, the terms of the Plan are controlling and will govern the amount, if any, you may be entitled to receive under the Plan.
First Citizens Bank reserves the right to amend the Terms at any time, and any amendment shall become effective immediately.
First Citizens Bank and its subsidiaries reserve the right to amend the benefits described in the Modeler (and the plans and programs under which it is provided) in whole or in part or completely discontinue them at any time, and nothing in this communication in any way limits that right.
Calculation Assumptions
The following assumptions are used in the Modeler. For help with questions about your First Citizens Bank 401(k) plan or this tool, call Fidelity at 800-835-5095 .
Overview
- You can change your 401(k) contribution percentage(s) at any time. This means you could have more than one contribution percentage applied in a given year or even in a given month. However, the Modeler provides results assuming your 401(k) contribution percentage(s) remain constant for the remainder of the year. The modeler estimates can be rerun at any time (and is encouraged).
- Keep in mind that this calculation is an estimate based on the information you provide. Timing of contribution changes or eligible pay changes will affect estimates provided (for example, payroll changes generally take effect in 1 to 2 pay periods following your request to change).
- The Modeler does not take into account contributions made under a different plan or with a former employer in the same year. Please note that the IRS limits specified apply to all contributions made in a calendar year. Be sure to consider this when modeling your contributions.
- The Modeler provides considerations taking into account most IRS contribution limits. Your plan limits pertaining to the amount of pay you are allowed to contribute: Between 0% and 100% of pay on a combined pre-tax and/or Roth basis.
- The Modeler assumes your new contribution elections take effect on your next paycheck if the modeling date is 9 days or more prior to the next pay date. If closer than 9 days to the next pay date, they are assumed to take effect on the following paycheck.
- The Modeler assumes pay periods occur every 2 weeks, regardless of whether that lands on a holiday.
Contributions
- The appropriate match formula is applied based on your 401(k) plan.
- Non-elective contributions, if applicable, are not considered in the Modeler. For more information call Fidelity at 800-835-5095 to talk with a Workplace Retirement Planner.
- Employee contributions are allowed to be made on all plan-eligible compensation during the year on a per pay period basis.
- Note: The First Citizens Bank 401(k) does not provide a year-end “true up” of missed Matching contributions.

- Your annual base pay for 2026
- To locate your base pay, visit UltiPro > Myself > Jobs > Compensation.
- 401(k) plan-eligible bonus or incentive pay you’ve already earned in 2026
- Year-to-date incentive compensation / variable pay, STIPP, LTIP, etc. can be found on UltiPro > Quick Links > Pay Statement.
Information you can find on Gateway:
- 401(k) plan-eligible bonus or incentive pay you expect to earn for the remainder of 2026
- Incentive compensation / variable pay, STIPP, LTIP, etc.
- Gateway > Navigation Menu (three lines on top right of screen) > Learning > Training Transcript > select Completed for Training Status & Material for Training Type.
- Note: If you have not reviewed your plan document, it will appear on the Gateway landing page under Action Items.

- Your year-to-date Pre-tax Contribution amount.
- Your year-to-date Roth Contribution amount.
- Your year-to-date Matching Contribution amount.

To find your YTD (year-to-date) contributions and Matching contribution, visit UltiPro > Myself > Pay > YTD summary(“401K” is your YTD contribution and “401K Match” is the First Citizens Matching contribution. OR 1. To find out your YTD contributions click here. 2. Select “Year to Date”. 3. Select “Get Statement”. 4. Scroll down to the section titled “YTD Plan Year Contributions”. 5. Find the appropriate values for each input box:
